[Tanmoy Aichroy] When a Scrum Team suggests that I am their impediment and the reason for their conflicts, it's important to approach the situation with a mindset of continuous improvement and collaboration. Here's how I would respond:
1. Listen Actively to their concerns and feedback.
2. Reflect on My Actions to see if there is any merit to their claims.
3. Seek Clarification from the team to gain a better understanding of the specific incidents or issues that led to this perception.
4. Apologize and Take Responsibility will help to open ways in rebuilding trust.
5. Collaborate on Solutions Together with the Scrum Team.
6. Continuous Improvement basis to their feedback.
7. Team Building and Training sessions to improve collaboration.
8. Regular Check-Ins meetings with the team to discuss how things are going.
9. Involve a Scrum Master or Agile Coach for guidance and facilitate the resolution process.
[Avishek Patra] That's a serious suggestion considering the Scrum Team is experiencing:-
1. Impediment -Agile Coach
2. Reason of Conflict- Agile Coach
Hence my approach would be to inspect the situation and adapt accordingly and step by step.
First need to go into a war room with team for Conflict Resolution. Open the forum for everyone. Would ask the Scrum Master of the team to facilitate.
This discussion itself will lead to the conclusion of the point of why me(Agile Coach) is an impediment.
Would request for suggestions of improvement and start putting things in a tracker with Action item on me and with an ETA date.
I am pretty sure, I don't have the magic pill (while being an Agile Coach) to resolve this instantly. It will take time till the time actions are implemented and transparent.
In the mean time would set up a casual catch up with the Scrum Team once every sprint to ensure there is no further blocker in place from my end.
Also would appreciate the team for surfacaing this up and helping me improve myself.
Note:- actions based on outcome of the war room session will be taken accordingly.
[Mahantesh Hooli] In my opinion, SM has not done the Retrospective meetings effectively in the past,... Because no team will say upfront and surprisingly that you are impediment it would be developed over period of time, As Scrum One should seek feedback from team regularly and should help to remove cause of impediment in each sprint...
But given the scenario has raised, one should encourage team give constructive feedback and seek how are Servant Leadership, he should help them team should stop being Scrum Police....( it would be the reason if your only outcome oriented,)
Create better environment open discussion in all the scrum events and make them lively, conduct quiz, coach agile, give suggestions not solution let dev team decide what good for them..
[Laxmi n.] Scrum is all about inspect learn and adapt. So if the team thinks Me as a scrum master is an impediment. I will humbly listen on the points they felt a scrum master has impediment their progress and acknowledge their concerns first. Next I would encourage an open and honest dialogue with team to understand how we can resolve the issue by asking specific questions to gain deeper understanding of the issue. Followed by making necessary changes and also facilitating conflict resolution within the team too. I would emphasize to move on from that scenario quick and focus on continuous improvement and also make sure to follow up on the agreed problem solutions are being followed. Also seek external help if needed.
