How did the Scrum Guide come up with those timebox values for every Event? Like 15 min for a Daily Scrum and not 16 min or 14 min?"

[Jose Bruce] I try not to presume what goes on in someone else’s head.

With that said, my stance is that timeboxes are limits, not destinations. They should be short enough to combat Parkinson’s Law (the sense of urgency for the goal) while offering enough time to get meaningful value from the event.

If we can meaningfully achieve the goal in a shorter period, the event doesn’t need to continue. If we consistently can’t achieve the goal, consider changing the scope or increasing the timeboxes, in that order of priority.
